Friends of Old Lick Cemetery

First Baptist Church Gainsboro, our Christian neighbors, down the street from St. Andrew Basilica is working in collaboration with the Friends of Old Lick Cemetery (FOLC) to restore its cemetery which was disturbed and neglected during Roanoke's 1960's period of urban renewal. 
St. Andrew has provided wonderful volunteers over these past 6 years. With the loss of several key volunteers due to relocation and health issues, we are again requesting volunteer help for scheduled workdays as follows: second Saturdays of the month 
Nov. 8th, Dec. 13th, Jan.10th, Feb.14th, Mar.14th from 10-12 noon. The work includes your choice of cleaning headstones, picking up litter, raking, removal of invasive plants, pruning, etc. Old Lick Cemetery is next to the Econo Lodge at 306 Orange Ave and can be accessed on Carver Ave. NE.
